Mike Moser-Booth
Composer/Performer

Mike Moser-Booth is a computer musician and guitarist interested in algorithmic composition, human-computer interaction, digital signal processing, and machine learning. Based in Boston, he began his music career playing heavy metal, but an introduction to the avant-garde composers of the twentieth century led him to realize the vast possibilities of experimental composition and performance, and of sound itself. He earned a B.M. in Music Synthesis magna cum laude from Berklee College of Music, where he studied under Dr. Richard Boulanger and developed a Max/MSP/Jitter application that synthesizes sound through the manipulation of digital images. Moser-Booth's live performances include the 2010 Bohlen-Pierce Symposium and as a member of the Boston Virtual Orchestra in an Open Sound concert. Berben published his score written for classical guitar, which has been performed by Italian guitarist Sandro di Stefano in 2007. Moser-Booth's current work involves developing interactive performance systems using alternative controllers and live instruments.
